Someone likened inclusionary zoning to giving away the heels of a loaf of bread when there is a bread shortage, while at $200,000 or more subsidy per unit, there’s a very real limit on how many units society can subsidize. This article talks about the other side of the equation, increasing middle-class wealth. If American workers were more highly skilled and productive, measured against world standards, they’d be paid more and could better afford housing. We need better, faster, cheaper and more efficient alternatives to college that will train them to be so. Education is the key to affording housing.
