In my neighborhood on South Bainbridge Island, neighbors are already organizing to fight state-mandated infill, and they are right to be fearful of new plans. When was the last time you heard of an urban plan being successfully built out? Most planners don’t know how to make them work. The profession needs to be overhauled so it creates good results on the ground.
